About
-
My day job is orthopedic surgery.
Precision matters when:
Aligning joints
Balancing forces
Correcting millimeters that change outcomes
That same mindset carries directly into how I tune bows and build arrows.
This is not retail archery.
This is methodical, repeatable, data-driven tuning.Appointment-only (no distractions, no rush)
One-on-one focus
Systematic tuning process
No unnecessary adjustments
Everything explained clearly
Every adjustment has a reason—just like in surgery or when resetting fractured bones.
-
Precision Over Guesswork.
Every change is intentional, verified, and measurable. Precision is standard.
Methodical Process We isolate variables, make controlled adjustments, and confirm results—same discipline as orthopedic surgery applied to bow tuning and arrow building.
One Client. One System. Each bow is treated as a complete system with undivided attention. No rushed, assembly-line work.
Field-Driven Results Tuned for real hunting—elk, deer, turkey, coyotes. I build my own gear with emphasis on higher FOC (15–20%), prioritizing broadhead reliability and accuracy over looks.
Transparency and Education Every adjustment is explained so clients leave informed and confident.
Respect for Time Appointment-only service. If it can’t be done right in the allotted time, it won’t be rushed.
Integrity of Craft Setups aren’t marked “done” until they meet standards, regardless of convenience.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What type of bows do you work on?
I work on modern compound hunting bows. If you’re unsure whether your specific setup is compatible, reach out before booking and I’ll confirm.
Do you work on recurves, longbows, or crossbows?
No. This service is currently limited to compound bows only. This allows me to maintain consistency and precision in the work I provide.
Is this a pro shop?
No. San Clemente Precision Archery is a private, appointment-only precision archery lab, not a retail pro shop. There are no walk-ins, retail sales, or production-line tuning.
Why appointment-only?
Appointment-only service ensures:
One client at a time
No rushed work
Full focus on your setup
This is how precision and consistency are maintained.
Where are you located?
I’m located in San Clemente, near Camp Pendleton. Exact location details are provided after booking to maintain privacy and ensure smooth scheduling.
Why not just go to a pro shop?
Many pro shops do good work, but they are often:
Retail-focused
High-volume
Time-constrained
This service exists to provide methodical, one-on-one tuning and custom arrow building without the 35–45 minute drive to Irvine or Mira Mesa.
How long does an appointment take?
Most appointments range from 45 to 90 minutes, depending on the service. Broadhead tuning and full setups take longer and are never rushed.
Do you sell bows, arrows, or equipment?
No retail sales.
I provide services and custom builds only. You’re welcome to bring your own equipment, components, or arrows.Do you build arrows from scratch?
Yes. I specialize in custom hunting arrow builds, including spine selection, component matching, squaring, and spin verification. I also provide high-FOC consultation for hunters who want to optimize penetration and consistency.
What FOC range do you specialize in?
Most builds fall within 15–20% FOC, depending on draw length, draw weight, and intended game. Recommendations are based on function, not trends.
Can you help with broadhead tuning?
Yes. Broadhead tuning is one of the core services offered. The goal is to bring field points and broadheads together, not to chase groups or paper tears.
Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?
After booking, you’ll receive prep instructions. In general:
Bring your bow, arrows, and broadheads
Bring any new components you want installed
Ensure your bow is safe to shoot
Do you allow shooting on-site?
Paper tuning and controlled verification are performed as part of the service. For extended shooting or field tuning, a nearby location is used.
Is this service only for military personnel?
No. While many clients are Marines, Navy personnel, or veterans, services are available to any serious bowhunterwho values precision and consistency.
What are your hours?
Appointments are typically available:
Evenings during the week
Limited weekend availability
Exact times are shown during booking.
What if my setup isn’t ready when we’re done?
If a setup requires additional work or changes, it will be addressed properly. Standards are not compromised to meet a clock. If something isn’t right, it doesn’t leave as “done.”
How do I book?
All appointments are booked online using the Contact Us or Schedule Services button. This ensures accurate time allocation and preparation.
Do you have Military/ Veteran Discount?
Yes, 15%, thank you for your service!
If you have a question that isn’t answered here, reach out before booking. Clear expectations are part of precision work.
